Join codes

What join codes are, where to find them, and what to do when one doesn't work.

What's a join code?

A join code is a short, 8-character code of letters and numbers that opens a hosted Session or a Challenge you play on your own. Codes never use the characters 0, O, 1, or I, so there's nothing ambiguous to mistype.

Where do I get one?

Your host or organizer shares it—usually on screen at the start of a Session, or in a message. If you were given a QR code instead, use the Scan button on the join page and your camera will fill the code in for you.

Do I need an account?

Not always. If your host enables guest access, you can join a hosted Session with just a display name. Otherwise, sign in to join. Challenges use your account so progress stays with you. Group membership codes are entered from Groups after signing in.

My code isn't working

Check for typos first—codes are not case-sensitive, but a missing character is easy to overlook. If it still fails, the Session may have ended or the code may have been replaced; ask your host or organizer for a fresh one. If a Challenge says it's closed, the organizer has stopped taking new Runs for now.
