Team-building games in the real world

Realm helps organizers create real-world games for groups. Build missions around a place, invite players to a hosted session, and let teams work through tasks on their phones. The organizer can follow progress while everyone plays.

Give teams a shared problem to solve

Choose tasks that invite discussion and observation. Ask a team to explain a landmark, find a visual pattern, or photograph evidence that supports an answer. A neighborhood discovery walk or a campus orientation can be the starting point. These are game ideas to author in Realm, rather than a fixed event package.

Design for the people who will attend

Pick a route and pace that work for your group. Make meeting points, instructions, and the expected answers clear before you start. Mix short tasks with prompts that need more conversation, and leave time at the end to regroup. Test the route and check that participants can reach each location you select.

Run the session from one place

Create your game, set up teams for the session, and share the join code. Players use their browser, with no app to install; guest players do not need accounts. Realm supports English and Spanish. During play, the host can see team progress and review submissions. Check connectivity and phone location permissions before sending teams out.

Use the results for a group conversation

Saved runs let you revisit the answers and photos after play. Ask teams how they reached a decision, what they noticed, and where their interpretations differed. Keep the game for a future session and adjust your missions as you learn what works for your group. Check the current plans for session limits and reporting features.
